May 7-13 is National Hospital Week. During this week, we acknowledge and celebrate hospitals and the women and men who support the health and well-being of their communities through dedication and compassionate care from the heart. According to the American Hospital Association®, this is an opportunity to thank all of the dedicated individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more – for their contributions.
At Valley Health Wellness and Fitness Center, we offer Next Steps fitness programs to bridge the gap between health care and fitness. These programs are designed for those transitioning from or managing a medical condition, or those who may need support to be more active. Participants enroll in this 8-week program choosing one of nine pathways such as Cardiac Fitness. A degreed and certified fitness specialist will perform a health assessment and prescribe an individualized exercise plan based on individual need. Throughout the program, participants engage in two 60-minute supervised exercise sessions per week on the fitness floor led by a fitness specialist. Next Steps participants have unlimited access to the Center’s equipment and facilities, including group exercise classes such as yoga and boot camp.
